NoizeMaschin!! Residency #1

NoizeMaschin!! seeks all musicians and sound artists to apply for a three month residency at The Artifactory Hackerspace, designed to promote collaborative relationships between hackers and builders, and musical performers in Perth.

Artist receives:
* One Three month, full membership to the Artifactory
* Complete access to Artifactory’s equipment, all workshops offered (including Ardueno, circuit hacking, 3D printing, Wine and Design and so on) and the significant body of knowledge available in the Artifactory’s membership.
* 3 performance opportunities at The Artifactory’s monthly experimental music gig series “NoizeMaschin!!” over the three months.

Criteria:
* Degree to which the artists practice will utilise the Artifactory Hackerspace
* Originality of creative output
* Artistic Area of focus and its suitability for the Artifactory and NoizeMaschin!!
* Ability to contribute back to the hackerspace (body of knowledge, expertise, etc…)

Submit by Jan 31 (provisional):
* 1pg (max) outline of what your residency would involve (including musical style and how The Artifactory hackerspace would be used)
* 1pg (max) C.V. of prior, relevant artistic pursuits (performances, projects, releases, and so on)

Winner announced Feb 7 (provisional)

NoizeMaschin!! gets all festive and destroys the eardrums before the kidz clacketty-clack gun stocking fillers do. Batteries not included – this is an arsenal of sound that goes beyond all that.

$10 entry. Bar d’Factory drinks & earplugs available.

We have performers threatening to send Dean Martin seasonal tunes thru the distortion matrix, chain saw tunes with santa hats, and more!

NoizeMaschin!! continues its war against organised audio and visuals.

Tuesday 22nd Nov @ The Artifactory 8/16 Gutherie Street, Osborn Park. 7:30-11pm.
$10 entry for non-Artifactory-members, Bar d’Factory serves drinks and free earplugs.

Lineup:

Michael Terren – WAAPA indie king returns to perform another mind-melting Noizemaschin!! set.
Mitchell Mollison – Fresh from supporting Candied Limbs, Mitchell Mollison creates some joyous experimental sounds for your ears.
Sam Gillies – Presents another laptop solo creation comprised of scraps of raw data from his hard drive warped into pulsing rhythms and noisy soundscapes.
Stuart James – Decibel laptop virtuoso creates extreme sounds for an extreme concert.
Stew Bags – TBC
Kucka – A performance of delicate ambient sounds, industrial glitches and captivating vocal layering structured with heavy bass and erratic beats.
Amber Fresh – TBC
The Aural Pleasurings of Doctor Vellocet and his Beatz of Destruction – As described, Doctor Vellocet offers up the latest creations from his mad scientist beat laboratory.

This month’s Noisemaschin is earlier in the month to allow students some gig-free lead up time to exams.

Bar d’Factory open till 10pm, doors open 7:00pm, performance starts 7:30.
